Iran to attend APA 9th Plenary Session in Cambodia

TEHRAN, Nov. 26 (MNA) – Iran’s APA representative said the Iranian delegation will take part in the 9th Plenary Session of the ASIAN Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Cambodia on Nov. 28 – Dec. 2, 2016.

According to Ali Kazemi, Cambodia is scheduled to host the 9th Plenary Session of the ASIAN Parliamentary Assembly (APA) from 27 November to 02 December 2016 in the cultural province of Siem Reap Angkor.

Kazemi said Saturday that during the Plenary Session, in addition to the General Assembly, the 2nd meeting of the executive council as well as economic, political, cultural and social committees will be held.

He stressed that a special committee on women and another committee on the establishment of the Asian Parliament will be held on the sidelines of the Assembly.

“In addition to speakers addressing the Assembly, all resolutions that were approved at the first Executive Council in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, will be reviewed and approved by the Assembly,” he added.

The Iranian delegation participating in the 9th Plenary session comprise MPs Ali Kazemi, Jalil Rahimi Jahan Abadi, Fatemeh Zolghadr, and Hajar Chenarani.

AAPP was established in 1999, and transformed into the APA, which currently comprises of 42 Member Parliaments, 16 observers and 10 partner organizations.
