London Iranian Film Festival is an annual, independent film festival held in London, United Kingdom, under the management of Pezhman Danaei. The selected films will compete for top prizes in four categories including Short film, Documentary, Animation and Feature film.
In this edition of the festival, 383 films were submitted to the Secretariat. In the Feature film, Asghar Farhadi’s The Salesman, Bodyguard, Daughter, Lantouri, Paradise, Rabidity, Inadaptable, Wednesday, Yahya Didn't Keep Quiet, I, It Happened at Midnight, and Drought and Lie will be screened. The Last Hero and Crossed Out Memories will compete in the Documentary section, with a large number of other films in the Short film category.
One notable feature of this year’s festival is the screening of short films before the feature films in a bid to introduce the audience to Iranian short film cinema.
The festival will also screen the documentary '76 Minutes and 15 Seconds With Abbas Kiarostami', compiled by photographer Seifollah Samadian, which offers a moving and intimate portrait of the late director.
London Iranian Film Festival is the only festival in the UK that is dedicated to Iranian independent cinema, with this year's event taking place from the 28th of October to the 2nd of November.
