Iranian movies in international festivals: October

TEHRAN, Oct. 08 (MNA) – October will see a number of Iranian movies seeking international trophies, which includes Italian and American festivals.

‘The Long Farewell’ by Farzad Motamen will soon be on the screen in Italian Religion Today Film Festival, held October 6-16. A Farabi Cinema Foundation product, the movie has participated in diverse international and domestic festivals including Bangalore in India, Australia and Canada’s Iranian Films Festival.

In a different event, Reza Dormishian’s ‘Lantouri’ will compete in SIGNIS international film festival. Yasser Talebi’s ‘The Descendants’ will be also present in the festival’s ‘Immigration, Plurality, and Co-existence’ section. Jacob's family worries about Farrokh, the son of the family. Farrokh left Iran to continue his studies but he has not been in touch with them for a long time. Jacob travels to Sweden to look for his son. SIGNIS (World Catholic Association for Communication) is a Roman Catholic lay ecclesial movement for professionals in the communication media, including radio, television, cinema, video, media education, Internet and new technology.

Ali Atshani’s ‘Paradis’ will be on screen in Chelsea Film Festival, October 13-16. The premier ceremony will have director in Katie Murphy Amphitheatre in New York, October 15. Notable among the crew are Javad Ezzati and Mehran Rajabi among Iranian cast and Olivia Burkhardt and Matheus Matts from Germany.
