‘Parole’ in Cambridge filmfest

TEHRAN, Oct. 08 (MNA) – ‘Parole’ by the first-time director Hossein Mahkam will be screened in Cambridge Film Festival in Britain.

The 36th edition of the festival, to be held October 20-27, will host ‘Parole’ on its opening day.

The movie is described by the official website of the event as “This feature debut from Iranian writer/director Hussein Mahkam is a nuanced exploration of family and society in the manner of Asghar Farhadi. It tells the story of a young boy, Saeid, whose release from a reformatory after being jailed for petty crimes is thrown into question when a tragic event occurs. With great skill, Mahkam examines the complex nature of the social relationships and psychological motivations of those who are caught up in the boy's fate. This is a film which looks at themes of family, justice, and love with deep understanding and in an affecting and engaging manner.”

Hossein Mahkam has writing screenplay for ‘Snow’ and ‘Wednesday, May 9.’ Notable among the cast are Rambod Javan, Hengameh Ghaziani, Hossein Pakdel, and Alireza Aghachani, to name a few.
