President Rouhani in separate messages to Malaysian King Abdul Halim of Kedah and Prime Minister Najib Razak, felicitated Malaysia’s Independence Day, also known as Hari Merdeka, which falls on August 31 and celebrates the country’s independence from British Empire in 1975.
“It is a source of happiness for us that Iran and Malaysia’s relations have been on a growing trend in the post-JCPOA period,” Rouhani said in the message. “I hope that with political will on both sides, we will see the further deepening of cooperation between the two countries.”
In his message to Kyrgyzstan’s President Almazbek Atambayev on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day which falls on Aug. 31 and celebrates Kyrgyzstan’s Independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, President Rouhani wished for Atambayev’s continued success and health, and prosperity for his people. Rouhani also called for an expansion of friendly ties between the two countries.
