'Oblivion Season' nominated for Best Film Award in US

TEHRAN, Mar. 05 (MNA) – Iranian movie Oblivion Season was nominated for the Best Feature Film competition of New York City's Winter Film Awards (WFA).

The director Abbass Rafei and his feature film Oblivion Season was nominated for the Best Director Award and Best Feature Film competition of New York City's Winter Film Awards, respectively.

5th Annual Winter Film Awards Indie Film Festival is held every year since Feb 18-26 in New York City. The event will host 86 feature, short and documentary Films from 26 countries around the world.

Competing with American, Russian, German, Argentinian, French, Chinese and African movies, Abbass Rafei’s Oblivion Season was eventually nominated for the Best Film and Best Director Award in 2016.

Oblivion Season has so far participated in and won many trophies from different international film festivals including US Buffalo Film Festival, Chicago Asian Films Festival, and Montréal, International Film Festival, to name only a few. The film was also featured in Hollywood official website and the website’s 5 best films for 2015. Filmnegaran Distributors is the main distributor of the film in EU and the US.

Sareh Bayat had also been nominated before in New Jersey and Universal Film Festivals. She was awarded the Best Actress award in India’s JIFF (Jaipur International Film Festival) earlier in January.
