Oblivion Season bags 2 awards at Queens World Filmfest.

TEHRAN, Mar. 22 (MNA) – Abbas Rafei’s feature narrative film Oblivion Season has earned two awards at the 2016 Queens World Film Festival in New York, US.

Produced and directed by Abbas Rafei, the 93-min feature narrative film Oblivion Season has won the Best Actress in Feature as well as the Special Jury Prize of New York’s Queens World Film Festival both for the outstanding acting of Iranian female actress Sareh Bayat.

The prizes marked the first international success of an Iranian film in the new Iranian calendar year (began March 20).

The film’s cast comprises of Sareh Bayat, Amin Zendeghani, Jila Alreshad as well as Human Kiaei.

The movie has received several awards at international festivals including the Best Feature Narrative Award at Buffalo International Film Festival (BIFF), the third Annual Rahway International Film Festival in New Jersey, Hudson Festival in New York, the 39th Montreal World Film Festival, Afghanistan International Women Film Festival as well as Brasov International Film Festival (BRIFF) held in Romania.

Oblivion Season narrates the story of a struggling but strong-spirited woman who, against all prejudices, tries to assert herself against working women and also against the hostility and contempt of the family of her husband.
