The Buffalo International Film Festival (BIFF), presenting 24 features and 38 shorts, is taking place from 15-18 October in Buffalo, New York.
Now in its 9th year, the BIFF will screen 'The Oblivion Season' directed and produced by Abbas Rafei as Iran’s sole representative in the festival.
Rafei’s feature film depicts the life of a woman who is haunted by her dark past even as she tries to put it past behind her by starting a new life with the man she loves. Now with her husband hospitalized, she has to make a living by working on his truck.
The film has already bagged several awards at international festivals including the third Annual Rahway International Film Festival in New Jersey, and Hudson Festival in New York as well as the 39th Montreal World Film Festival.
More recently, 'Oblivion Season' garnered the best award at Afghanistan International Women Film Festival, Herat.
