Iran makes no limitations for boosting ties with Oman

TEHRAN, Feb. 20 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Iran has no restriction on the further expansion of all-out ties with Oman.

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Omani counterpart Youssef bin Alawi bin Abdullah here on Saturday, Zarif said the presence of Omani delegation in Iran reflects that the two countries highly regard bilateral ties.

He underlined the two sides talked about widespread financial, banking, customs, trade and energy cooperation during a meeting on Saturday.

Zarif said Iran and Oman have reached an agreement to expand relations in various fields, including construction of a gas pipeline, cooperation in the field of aviation, trade, facilitation of visa process for businessmen and investors, laying the grounds for the presence of investors and holding of a joint venture of Iran and Oman.

“I hope the visit will open a new chapter in the development of deep bilateral relations between the two countries,” Zarif concluded.

Youssef bin Alawi, for his part, said his country will resume talks following the removal of anti-Iran sanctions. “We have come here with a decisive will to work together within the framework of brotherly cooperation,” bin Alawi said.

"We have identified boundaries and dimensions of cooperation between Iran and Oman during the meeting today in two regional and international sectors," he underlined.

He noted the first and last goal they look for in their visit to Iran is cooperation, which can provide new horizons to achieve more stability and security in the region.

Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi arrived in Tehran Saturday for a 2-day visit to hold talks with the Iranian officials.
