ICRO condemns Nimr’s execution

TEHRAN, Jan. 02 (MNA) – Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) has issued a message to condemn Saudi Arabia for execution of Sheikh Baqir Nimr al-Nimr Shia cleric and religious leader.

ICRO public relations office informed Mehr News of its message on Saturday. “The execution of Sheikh Nimr along with the frequent news of killing of innocent people around the world have been a bane for the humanity and the sheer lack of ethics and morality which diagonally opposed the technological changes; the morality has been swept aside,” says the message by ICRO, “perhaps the third millennium would be aptly called a millennia where the humanity has returned back to well-trodden path which has lost in its moral darkness.”

“The law of lawlessness once ruled the lives of communities which saw their livelihood and supremacy the death and destruction of others; the news of execution of Sheikh Nimr reflects only one dimension of the wasteland of immorality in the cradle of Islam as a religion of peace and mercy,” said the message.

“Islamic Culture and Relations Organization strongly condemns the Saudi government’s misguided conduct and demands that Saudi officials hold themselves accountable for the world public opinion especially Muslims; Sheikh Nimr’s efforts only sought to revive the true Islam in the land of Islam; he has now joined the thousands of martyrs Imam Khomeini (RA) had once famously described using a Quranic term ‘alive with their Lord, receiving provision,’” concluded the message.
