Iranian talou female athlete writes history

TEHRAN, Nov. 17 (MNA) – Iran’s Zahra Kiani has reportedly written history for Iran’s women’s talou by winning the first silver won every by an Iranian talou athlete in world competitions.

In the latest event which was of a good omen for Iran, Zahra Kiani won the silver medal with its brilliant 9.52 out of possible 10 points in Chang Chuan form.

This is Iran’s first such medal ever won during adult world championships. Russian representative stood in the second place ahead of Kiani with just fraction of points added, 9.53, and the US representative managed a bronze with 9.48 points.

Kiani, 16, enjoys her first ever appearance in this highly prestigious level of athletism; in men’s Chiang Shou form, Reza Khalafzadeh only managed a fourth place with 9.57.

Earlier in the competitions, Farshad Arabi had won a silver for men’s camp.

Indonesia hosts World Wushu Championships 2015. The 13th edition of the event in Jakarta will wrap up on Wednesday.
