“Iran and Russia both lay emphasis on a comprehensive development of relations especially in the field of aviation and industrial centers,” said Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov while meeting Iran’s Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari in Moscow.
Sattari heading a delegation is currently in the Russian capital to visit MAKS-2015 aerospace exhibition which is held biennially in the Moscow town of Zhukovfsky in late August and attended this year by about 40 countries in the field of space technology from August 25-31.
It was also announced during the meeting that Manturov will visit Iran in December; an exclusive exhibition of Russia’s industry will also be held in Tehran with the aim of getting closer acquaintance with Iranian companies and facilities.
While calling on Iranian investors for closer participation in Russia’s economic projects especially in the field of infrastructure, the Russian minister added that the two countries have signed an initial cooperation agreement for engineering development programs, industrial parks and centers, as well as joint production of aircraft.
The Iranian official, for his part, highlighted the importance of expanding relations between the two countries in all areas, noting that many opportunities exist for Tehran and Moscow joint participation .
According to the announced schedule, the Iranian high scientific delegation is expected to hold Iran-Russia first meeting of the Joint Commission on Science and Technology attended by Sattari and Dmitryi Rogozin, Russian Deputy Prime Minister in charge of defense industry.
Russia’s MAKS-2015 Airshow kicked off today with an opening speech from President Valdimir Putin. The event will last until August 31 in the Moscow town of Zhukovfsky.
According to the event’s official website, the main objective of MAKS is to demonstrate achievements of Russian high tech and receptiveness of the domestic Russian market to joint projects with foreign partners.
