Iran open to world but Isreal, US: Cleric

TEHRAN, Aug. 01(MNA) – This week’s leader of Tehran’s Friday Prayers gave sermon on nuclear deal, Yemen crisis, Bahrain oppression of people, and EU3 efforts to resume relations with Tehran.

The interim Friday Prayers leader Ayatollah Seyed Ahmad Khatami held this week’s ceremony on Friday July 31, preaching two sermons; usually one dealing with socio-political issues and the other touching upon religious principles.

The senior cleric, in second sermon, touched upon a plethora of issues currently concerned in Iran including the visits made by the European delegations in a bid to resume relations with Tehran.

Ayatollah Khatami welcomed interaction with all countries in the world in line with the Constitution which has put a redline for relationship with countries and states in direct war against Iran.

He further added that Israeli regime and the US have been in fight with Iranians’ interests referring to instances such as American CIA role in the 1953 coup d'état which restored the oppressive monarchy of Pahlavi regime, and overthrew the democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran Mohammad Mosaddegh on 19 August 1953.

Adding the fact that the US was one of the biggest supporters of Saddam’s regime in Iran-Iraq war of 1980-88, Ayatollah Khatami rhetorically asked how Iranians could trust the US while the Americans have been repeatedly conducting sabotage against the Iranian nation for more than 50 years.

In addition, the top cleric referred to the sum of $10.9 to $34.2 billion that France lost in implementing sanctions over Iran, and called the hand extended by Fabius, efforts to regain revenues from Iran’s market.

On nuclear agreement of July 14, he restated the method advised by the Leader of the Islamic Republic, letting the legal procedure follow its own roadmap, and avoiding division over a matter of national concern.

On Bahrain issue, Khatami reassured the oppressed nation that the ruthless tyrannies are to go and the nations will remain living.

Over Saudi aggression to war-torn neighboring country of Yemen, the top cleric mourned the death and injury of over 23,000 civilians in course of 124 days of Saudi airstrikez on Yemeni cities.
