Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Djiboutian counterpart Mahamoud Ali Youssouf met on Thursday on the sidelines of the 42nd session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Kuwait during which they discussed ways of assisting the Yemeni people in the wake of the Saudi-led military aggression, IRNA reported.
Expressing gratitude to Djibouti officials for facilitating dispatching of Iran's humanitarian packages to Yemen, Amir-Abdollahian highlighted Iran's proposal to secure a political solution to the crisis.
Youssouf, for his part, said the ports of his country will receive and send Iran's relief aid to the impoverished people of Yemen when necessary.
Pointing to the hosting of 20,000 Yemeni refugees fleeing from bombardments in Djibouti, he said the international assistance has been insufficient and urged prompt attention of the responsible bodies to save the lives of Yemenis in their country and in Djibouti.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister left Kuwait for Tehran, after the meeting.
