Iran urges end to military aggression against Yemen

TEHRAN, Apr. 01 (MNA) – Iranian deputy FM for Arab-African affairs demanded an immediate halt to all military aggression and air strikes against Yemen.

Iranian Deputy FM for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, while noting that insecurity in the region would raise extremism and terrorism, demanded an immediate halt to Saudi-led military operations in Yemen.

Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah on the sidelines of the third international donors’ conference for Syria held in Kuwaiti.

Discussing the developments in Yemen, Amir-Abdollahian described Saudi-led military action against Yemen a strategic error which would pave the way for extremism and terrorism.

“Aggression against Yemen not only complicates the situation in the region but also will not help solve the problems of the country,” He reiterated.

Underlying that Yemen’s issue needs only a political solution, Iranian diplomat urged all political parties to return to the negotiating table based on agreements made previously.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, for his part, described the conditions in the region ‘very difficult’, stressing the regional dialogue in order to solve issues.

Noting that the region needs peace, Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah demanded all countries to start talks as soon as possible.
