‘Iranian Ninja’ to attend Mexico festival

TEHRAN, July 12 (MNA) – Iranian documentary ‘Iranian Ninja,’ directed by Marjan Riyahi will attend Mexico’s Guanajuato International Film Festival.

Iranian Ninja, produced by DEFC (Documentary and Experimental Film Center), is Iran’s only official representative in the competitive section of the 17th event of the festival.
Guanajuato International Film Festival is one of the prestigious short film festivals in Latin America. All films of the festival final section are qualified to compete in British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards. Guanajuato also introduces its selected films to Oscars Academy.
Iranian Ninja is a documentary narrated by Khatereh Jalilzadeh, the first Iranian ‘ninja’ woman (practicing Ninjutsu) and features the women’s hardships and barriers to practice the sport. The documentary is the first feature film with focus on ninja women competitions.
Iranian Ninja has already participated in the main competition section of 21st Hot Docs Film Festival and 4th Open City Documentary Festival in London.
17th Guanajuato Film Festival will be held July 25-August 3 in Mexico.
