Iranians give 5000 billion Rls. ($ 200M) of alms

TEHRAN, Jan. 5 (MNA) – Public Contributions Deputy of Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation told reporters that, alms given by Iranians in the current year have increased. “In the past 9 months, 5000 billion Rls. ($ 200M) was collected from alms boxes,” he said.

“Donations collected from people’s alms boxes are spent to solve problems and support the poor. Accordingly, we have been working to improve the payment procedures and categories,” Saeed Sattari told MNA.

“In the past year, 1250b Rls.($ 50M) of alms was collected from boxes across the country, tripling in the first 9 months of the current year,” he added.
