Carlos Queiroz has invited the 28 Iranian football players to participate in the three-day training camp from May 23 to 25 ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
Iran is scheduled to play the Maldives on June 29 and July 3.
Karimi was forced out of the Iran football team for the 2011 Asian Cup, where the team lost to South Korea in the quarter-final round.
The 33-year-old has played 112 times for the national team and scored 36 goals.

Last week, Karimi gave positive signals to the Iranian football officials to return to the team.
Sepahan and Persepolis players have not been invited to the national team since the two teams are scheduled to play in the Iran’s Hazfi Cup quarter-final on May 29.
Also, Javad Nekounam accompanies Osasuna against Villarreal in the La Liga's final match of the season and his teammate Masoud Shojaei is recovering from a foot injury.
