517 woman activists, victims of Pahlavi’s regime tortures

TEHRAN, Feb. 1 (MNA) – According to the Islamic Revolution’s written documents, a total of 517 women activists were subjected to torture by the Pahlavi regime in the most dreaded prisons run by SAVAK secret police, a member of Muslim Women Activists Association said.

“Now, it is not time for women to be pushed to the sideline in society,” Hamideh Nankeli said recently, adding, “Women activists are obligated to illustrate the crimes committed by the Pahlavi regime.”

Following the true teachings of Islam and the guidelines of Imam Khomeini and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the association is aimed at empowering families of political prisoners before the Islamic Revolution, Nankeli said.

Muslim Women Activists Association was established on May 7, 2008.
