Falaki’s poems hit Germany’s bookstores

TEHRAN, Dec. 12 (MNA) -- Germany-based Iranian author Mahmud Falaki’s collection of poems “A Voice from Far away and Cliffs” has recently been released by Sujet Verlang Publications in Germany.

The four-chapter book consists of his short sonnets and also long poems and each chapter has a certain theme.  Some poems were composed in Persian and Falaki translated them into German and others were composed in German, Falaki told ISNA.

 

His novel “Another Death of Karola” in the German language, which will be published in Sweden in near future, narrates a love story of an Iranian immigrant and a German woman.

 

Born in 1951, Falaki obtained degree in German Literature from the University of Hamburg.  He has published about 20 books in different fields of literature including novels, poetry and literary criticism in Persian and Germany.  Some of his poems have been translated into English and Swedish.  He has lived in Hamburg since 1986.

 

Among his published works are short story collections “The Long Street”, “Homesick Tales”, the novel “Shadows”, poetry collections “The dark words”, “Wandering in Dreams”, and “The Last poetry Collection”, and books on literary criticism including “Music in Iranian Blank Verse” and “A Glance at Shamlu Poetry”.
