The Iranian author Ghaffarzadegan writes the story from Iraqi soldiers’ point of view, humanizing the enemy and challenging his reader to do so as well.
The book was published by Center for Middle Eastern Studies, University of Texas at Austin.
Iran keen to hold joint documents exhibition with Czech Republic
TEHRAN -- Head of Iran National Library and Archives (INLA) Ali-Akbar Ash’ari proposed to hold an exhibition displaying documents of Iran and Czech cultural relationships in near future.
During his visit to the state administration National Archives of Czech Republic (NACR) on Thursday, Ash’ari announced that Iran is ready to share his experiences in perseverance and repairing of historical documents with NACR.
Pointing to Iran’s rich culture and civilization, his Czech counterpart Eva Gregorovicová warmly welcomed Ash’ari’s suggestions.
Hana’s “Buddha” to compete at Karlovy Vary Festival
TEHRAN -- Hana Makhmalbaf’s “Buddha Collapsed out of Shame” will be screened at 43rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
The film will be screened in the Another View Section of the festival which will be held from July 4 to 12 in Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), Czech Republic.
Iran becomes member of ICSICH
TEHRAN -- Iran has been selected as a member of UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICSICH).
Iran and other twelve new members were chosen during the General Assembly of States Parties for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Paris Headquarters on June 16.
