Iran offers condolences to Pakistan over hospital fire

TEHRAN, Aug. 27 (MNA) – Referring to a fire in the maternity ward of a Pakistani hospital, the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman has expressed condolences and sympathy of the Iranian government and people to the families of victims of the incident.

Baghaei prayed to Almighty God to grant patience and endurance to the grieving fathers and mothers and wished the injured a swift recovery and good health.

At least 14 newborn babies have died in a fire that broke out in the maternity ward at one of Pakistan’s most prominent state hospitals.

The blaze began in the early hours of Wednesday and engulfed the ward at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, the biggest state hospital in Islamabad.
