Syria FM calls Iranian counterpart, raps Kerman terror attack

TEHRAN, Jan. 05 (MNA) – Faisal Mekdad, the Foreign Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic, strongly condemned Wednesday's terrorist incident in Kerman during a phone call with Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

The attack resulted in the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of innocent people.

Expressing sympathy for the martyrs' families, Mekdad also wished a speedy recovery for the injured.

Additionally, Mekdad conveyed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's condolences to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Amirabdollahian, in turn, thanked the Syrian authorities for their sympathy and condemnation of the terrorist incident.

The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the necessity of cooperation among regional countries to combat and eradicate the ominous phenomenon of terrorism.

The two sides also touched on the recent terrorist acts by the Zionist regime in Syria and Lebanon, and discussed the latest developments in Palestine as well as the regime's aggression against Gaza.
