'Tehran-Ankara cooperation helps boost regional stability'

TEHRAN, Nov. 07 (MNA) – The cooperation between Iran and Turkey can help enhance the stability in the region, Iran's Defense Minister said.

Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday with Turkish Ambassador to Iran Hicabi Kırlangıc.

Noting that enhanced cooperation between Iran and Turkiye would benefit the entire region and the Muslim world, the defense minister called for coordinating the stances of the two countries regarding crucial regional and international issues.

Touching upon the Zionist atrocities in the Gaza Strip, Ashtiani stressed the need for regional and Muslim countries to boycott the exports of energy and fuel to the Zionist regime as well as the imposition of other economic and air restrictions.

He also referred to the developments in the Caucasus region, adding that further cooperation and negotiations between both sides can bring balance and stability to the region.

Iran strongly believes that changing the historical and geopolitical borders would be harmful to the security of the region, he noted.
