2 soldiers killed in drone attack near Saudi-Yemen border

TEHRAN, Sep. 26 (MNA) – Two Bahraini soldiers were killed in a drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s southern border with Yemen, media sources reported on Tuesday.

A number of Bahraini soldiers were also wounded in the attack, Bahrain’s military said in a statement, which was carried by the official Bahrain News Agency on Monday, Aljazeera reports. The exact number of soldiers wounded was not released.

A number of open-source intelligence (OSINT) bloggers said that the soldiers were operating an artillery battery near the borders, and were firing into Yemeni territories and villages daily.

According to some sources, Bahrain’s military command has accused Yemeni Ansarullah of launching the attack.

Ansar Allah television channel, Al-Masirah, separately reported that four civilians were injured in Saudi attacks on Yemeni territory near the border. This comes despite a ceasefire between the two parties that has been holding up despite its expiration in October.

Bahrain was one of the nations that contributed troops to the coalition assembled by Saudi Arabia to wage the war in Yemen.

There are ongoing talks with Omani mediation to try and bring about a ceasefire in light of the still ongoing war in Yemen.

The head of the Sanaa delegation Mohammad Abdul Salam said they "held intensive meetings with the Saudi side, during which it discussed some options and alternatives to overcome the contended issues that stopped negotiations at the previous round" and confirmed that "the delegation will raise them to Sanaa's leadership for consultation."
