Somali presidential palace area comes under mortar attack

TEHRAN, Feb. 01 (MNA) – Local news sources reported that several mortars hit the areas near the country's presidential palace in Mogadishu on Wednesday.

The local sources said that the place where the mortars were fired from is unknown, adding that no information about the amount of damage caused by the attack has been released.

Five mortar shells hit the vicinity of the presidential palace and explosions were heard in different neighborhoods of the city, according to the reports.

No groups or individuals have yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
