Rossi’s “Salvatore Giuliano” translated for 100 Years of Cinema

TEHRAN, July 22 (MNA) -- Iranian film critic Antonia Shoraka has recently finished the Persian translation of Italian filmmaker Francesco Rossi’s screenplay “Salvatore Giuliano” and it will soon be published in Tehran.

It will be one of the works published by Nashr-e Ney in the project One Hundred Years of Cinema, the Persian service of CHN reported on Saturday.

The 1961 Italian classic “Salvatore Giuliano” helped establish Rossi as one of Italy's most prominent directors. Centered on the actual murder of Giuliano, a young freedom fighter-turned-criminal, it investigates the life of the outlaw at the same time that it probes the political and social climate of his native Sicily.

Shoraka is also compiling a book on Italian grammar for Farhang-e Moaser Publications.
