Fifty-two documentaries on 52 Iranian filmmakers are made in the project initiated by Iranian director Reza Mirkarimi last October.

Khosro Sinaii along with Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, Bahman Farmanara, Majid Majidi, Kianush Ayyari, Kiumars Purahmad, Ebrahim Hatamikia, Kamal Tabrizi, Abolfazl Jalili, Ahmadreza Darvish, Tahmineh Milani, and a number of other Iranian directors have been short-listed.
“Making a film on my father’s life and his career had occupied my mind for the past three years. I was informed by Mehradad Oskuii, also an Iranian documentarian involved in the project, about the project when I was performing a drama at the Molavi Hall. He introduced me to Mirkarimi, who told me to make the film about my father,” Samira told Mehr News Agency on Tuesday.
“Mr. Mirakarimi plans to center on the professional life of the filmmakers, however I also highlighted Khosro Sinaii’s private life,” she explained.
Production of the film was accomplished last March and Arash Re-Safaii is taping the sound effects that finish within two weeks.
“I tried to prevent my close relation to Mr. Sinaii from spoiling the screenplay and production stage and the whole film,” she said and added, “In general, I made every effort that the film would not turn into a personal affair,” Samira noted.
“I picked up those, who were the subjects of my father’s films or accompanied him,” she added.
Mohammad-Ebrahim Jafari (painter), Farah Osuli and Gizella Varga Sinaii (Sinaii’s wives), Gholam-Hossein Nami (painter), Mehradad Oskuii, Ali Loqmani (cinematographer, editor), Mehdi Ahmadi (actor), Hamid Farrokhnejad (actor) have put into play for the documentary.
Born in 1940, Khosro Sinaii is a musician and a prominent director, whose filmmaking credits include “In the Alleys of Love”, “The Inner Monster”, “The Lost Elegy”, and “Bride of Fire”.
His latest film “Conversation with the Shadow” (2005) depicts the life of Iranian foremost short story writer Sadeq Hedayat.
