Intelligence forces dismantle network involved in smuggling of petrochemicals

TEHRAN, Nov. 18 (MNA) – The Iranian intelligence forces have dismantled a big network involved in the smuggling of petrochemicals.

According to a report by the Intelligence Ministry, the illegal network was one of the biggest of its kind responsible for the recent hike in the prices of petrochemicals.

This illegal network has been operating nationwide, especially in the provinces of Tehran, Khorasan Razavi, Gilan, Qom, Mazandaran, Golestan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad and Qazvin, and they sought to create artificial demands on the market.

According to the report, intelligence forces have confiscated 10,000 tons of petrochemical products and have arrested 14 members of the group.

It is worth mentioning, the prices of petrochemical products sharply increased as a result of illegal activities but through the efforts of the intelligence forces the market has returned to normal.
