In a Sunday tweet, the Arabic version of Goal.com reported that Beiranvand along with two other players from Qatar and Japan have been shortlisted for Asia’s best player of the year.
Beiranvand had an impressive performance in the 2018 Russia World Cup, the peak of which was saving Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty in the match against Portugal. He also proved his quality in AFC Champions League with Persepolis, reaching the final of the event while having the height number clean sheets compared to other goalkeepers.
Japanese striker Yuma Suzuki of Kashima Antlers and Qatari defender Abdelkarim Hassan of Al Sadd are the two players who will compete with Beiranvand for this award.
