Iran 1st quarter export to Qatar quadrupled year on year

TEHRAN, Jul. 04 (MNA) – Statistics show that the volume of goods exported from Iran to Qatar has quadrupled in the first quarter of the current Iranian year of 1397.

In the first quarter of the current year of 1397 (March 21, 2018- June 21, 2018), 74 million and 61 thousand dollars of goods were shipped from Iran to Qatar, which has increased by 214 percent year-on-year.

About a year ago, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain closed their diplomatic ties with Qatar, which eventually cut off relations between other countries, including Libya, Maldives, Senegal, Mauritania, Comoros, Niger and Gabon also became Qatar. On the other hand, the Jordanian government also announced it would downgrade its diplomatic relations with Qatar.

After severing all ties with Qatar in June 2017, Saudi Arabia and the countries led by the kingdom imposed an air, sea and land blockade on Qatar.
