Peugeot exit from Iran not yet certain; Iran, Fiat hold no new round of talks

TEHRAN, Jul. 02 (MNA) – Chief Executive of Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO) Hashem Yekehzare denied any talk with Italy’s FIAT Automobiles and said that France’s PSA has not yet announced its exit from Iran’s lucrative car market officially.

In response to a question on the details of talks between Italy’s FIAT automobiles and Iran’s leading car manufacturing company ‘IKCO’, he said, “re our previous negotiations with this prestigious Italian company, FIAT has not yet held any talk with the Islamic Republic of Iran, so that the news is strongly denied.”

Turning to the latest situation of contract inked between Franch carmaker PSA and IKCO, Yekehzare said, “according to the latest remark of the minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, France’s PSA has not yet announced its withdrawal from Iranian car market officially.”
