TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (MNA) – Iran’s junior table tennis outfit has departed for India in order to vie for slots at 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

The 2018 Youth Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament will be held at continental level with India hosting the table tennis event. Accordingly, New Delhi will play host to boy and girl table tennis players from various Asian countries who will compete over tickets to Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games (YOG).

Amin Ahmadian and Mahshid Ashtari will represent Iran at the three-day event which is slated to kick off on November 03.

Young Iranian table tennis players left Tehran for the Indian capital on Tuesday morning while being led by Miaad Makif and Azadeh Sarafraz as head coaches.

The Indian qualification games will offer quotas to four top athletes in each of boys and girls divisions. In other words, the finalists in the boys and girls events will automatically qualify for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

The 2018 Summer Youth Olympics will be competed from October 06-18, 2018 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
