Westerners’ instrumentalist view to spread terrorism into Europe

TEHRAN, Sep. 16 (MNA) –Iran’s Shamkhani criticized Europe’s instrumentalist approach to terrorism, during the meeting with the President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, Siegfried Bracke on Saturday.

“The Parliaments of the two countries can play a very effective role in paving the way for tapping the huge potential of investment opportunities in Iran, in the areas of energy, technology, and knowledge based economy,” reiterated the Head of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani on Saturday.

The Iranian senior official made the remarks during the meeting with the President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, Siegfried Bracke, in Tehran. He voiced Iran’s readiness for expanding the scope of cooperation in areas of economy, politics, culture, and security with European countries especially Belgium.

The Belgian top law-maker who is visiting Tehran at the head of ranking delegation, joined Iranian Leader’s Aide Shamkhani to discuss the ways to expand the ways to increase the level of relations and cooperation between Iran and Belgium.

“The recent days’ event in Europe indicated that instrumentalist approach of some countries to terrorism in Iraq and Syria will lead to uncontrollability and spread of the horrific phenomenon to the heart of Europe,” warned the Iranian senior official blaming westerners and some regional states for arming, equipping, training, and developing terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq.

“The intimidating rhetoric of American political and security officials not only makes any change in the principle policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran in regional issues, developing conventional defense capabilities, and continuation of support for wronged nations suffering from the arrogant powers, but also exposes the real bellicose approach of this country to the public opinion of the world,” underlined the Iranian official.

He also noted that the JCPOA (the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action signed on July 15, 2015 between the foreign ministers of Iran, UK, US, France, Germany, Russia, and China along with EU representative) is an international document approved by the UNSC which mandates all sides’ compliance with it and protection against unwise, extremist, and illegal measures which undermine it.

“The Americans’ media hype and psychological warfare in 120-day period of issuing sanctions reliefs is intended to influence other countries and prevent them from cooperating with Iran, in line with their Iranophobia campaign,” said the official of the Iranian supervisory council of JCPOA Implementation.

“This trend proves that the American ruling body does not have a clear sense of Iran’s atmosphere of trade and economy,” articulated Mr. Shamkhani referring to the growing traffic of foreign officials and trade delegations visiting Tehran. “They do not know this vast country of potentials.”

The Belgian legislator, in this meeting, for his part, underlined that with activation of the huge potentials of cooperation between Iran and Belgium a new chapter will be opened in the bilateral relations of the two countries in the areas of mutual interests.

He also offered thanks to Tehran for all the measures taken against terrorism saying that, “Iran is the stabilizing element in the region playing a bold role in fighting terrorism.”
