“Today it has become known to the public opinion of the world that Trump is a liar,” said Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).
The Iranian senior official made the remark in an interview with euronews.
“While the US government continuously is acting against the Iranian nation with imposing new sanctions and creating economic difficulties, against Iraqis and Syrians with growing terrorism, against Yemeni people with bombarding them, and against the people of Bahrain with supporting dictators, they label Iran as a supporter of terrorism without providing any evidence.”
“When Trump calls Iran “The Terrorist Nation”, or distorts the 2,500 years of history the “Persian Gulf” has, by calling it the “Arabian Gulf”, people realize that they are being targeted,” he told euronews.
“It has always been our plan to develop our ties and relations with Europe within our values and beliefs,” opined the Iranian official touching upon Iran-Europe relations after the landmark agreement of 2015, “However, the truth is that Europe has not done the same since the nuclear deal was signed.
“It has mainly paid lip service, with a few exceptions. It is now stating that it is against the elimination of the nuclear deal by the US,” Rear Admiral Shamkhani added.
