Held at Bangkok Youth Center in the Thai capital city of Bangkok, the tournament saw Iran’s Seyed Erfan Jafarian (46kg), Mahdi Eshghi (54kg), Abbas Forutan (85kg) and Seyed Mehdi Hashemi (100kg) picking up gold medals.
Morteza Pourmortazavi (58kg) and Meysam Zare (76kg) settled for silver in the prestigious sportive event while Mahdi Veisi (42kg) and Seyed Mobin Hosseini (69kg) stood on the third podium.
The Iranian cadet freestyle outfit therefore stood on top of the podium overall with a total of eight medals including three gold, five silver and one bronze. The team racked up 87 points.
India finished in the second place having accumulated 72 points followed by Kazakhstan who collected 72 points to occupy the third spot.
Earlier in the tournament, the Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers brought home the trophy after winning three gold, five silver and one bronze medal.
The Asian Cadet Championships 2017 started in the Thai capital city of Bangkok on July 20, and wrapped up on July 23.
