Iran stands 1st at Asian Wrestling Championships in Thailand

TEHRAN, Jul. 21 (MNA) – The Greco-Roman wrestlers of Iran’s squad won the trophy at cadet Asian wrestling championships in Bangkok of Thailand.

Wining 3 gold, 5 silve and one bronze medals, the Iranian squad of Greco-Roman wrestlers brought home the trophy at cadet Asian wrestling championships in Bangkok of Thailand.

During the two day competitions of the Greco-Roman style, on Thursday and Friday, Mohammad Hosseinvand, Ali Kabiri, and Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini snatched the gold medals in the weight categories of 54, 69, and 100 kilograms.

Milad Rezanejad Hosseinvand, Mohsen Madhani, Mostafa Kaydkhordeh, Mehran Sa’adatifar, and Mohammad Nosrati, grabbed silver medals at the weight classes of 50, 58, 63, 76, and 85 kilograms.

Mohammad Kariminia won the bronze medal of 42 kilogram weight class and the whole squad of young wrestlers of Iran collected a total of 87 points to stand atop of Asian Greco-Roman wrestlers.

Kazakhstan with 77 points, Kyrgyzstan with 75 points, and India with 65 points got the other positions respectively behind Iran.
