Rouhani made the remarks during an Iftar banquet on Tuesday evening with a gathering of senior clerics and scholars.
He stressed emphasized the need to clarify Islam to the young generation adding “the burden of responsibility on the shoulders of clerics and seminaries for clarifying God’s laws and Islamic beliefs to bring the youth closer to religion is harder today as compared to the past”.
“Issues like monotheism, prophecy, imamate and divine justice cannot be put to vote for being scientific, theoretical, rational, and reasonable elements,” continued the President.
Stressing that the Islamic Republic is based on voting and that Imam Khomeini (RA) pondered upon the name of the political system, Rouhani added “Imam Khomeini put the system and its conditions to vote for it to be based on democracy.”
“Clergymen have had the responsibility to enlighten people in addition to inviting them. They have been responsible to reassure them with the basics of religion and explain God’s laws for them,” he underlined.
The President also stated that national issues are non-partisan and non-factional, but rather belong to all people. National interest, national security, national interests, constitution, the Leader, and even the administration are all non-partisan.
When it comes to issues related to national security, there is no talk of faction and party, said Rouhani adding “if we decide to hit a place with missiles, the decision pertains to our national security”.
“The measure taken by IRGC forces in preparing missiles and launching them towards ISIL points in Deir Ezzor, was not a decision made by an individual or a military organ, rather by the Supreme Council of National Security (SCNC).
“The Council had given the Armed Forces even more authority to take more serious actions in response to recent terrorist attacks in Tehran,” continued Rouhani.
He also said that the action by the IRGC was completely correct, in-time and essential adding “the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards regional and global issues would never change unless groups or people are deployed from a center pose threats or harm the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Terrorists failed to fulfill their objectives in the Parliament and mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, noted the official saying “the Islamic Republic of Iran will definitely respond to such acts and the perpetrators will face a more serious response in case they intend to repeat similar attacks.”
“In line with the remarks made by the Leader, those who think they can slap Iran, need to reach the understanding that Iran will slap them back,” underscored the Iranian President concluding that Iran is determined in its path and betrayers are doomed to collapse.
