Massive turnout weights country: Larijani

TEHRAN, May. 19 (MNA) – The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, Ali Larijani, told the media on Friday after voting in both elections in Qom that massive turnout of the nation at the election weights the democratic foundations of the country.

“Today I had a phone conversations with interior and intelligence ministers and fortunately everything is followed smoothly and no major issue has popped up so far,” said Ali Larijani, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, on Friday after visiting the provincial headquarter of executive committee of election in Qom city of Iran.

He confirmed that people have attended at the election with meticulous attention and wished hope that the Friday election serve as a support for the future of the country.

The MP from Qom constituency highlighted that election is an important pillar of decision making in the country.

“When people pick the one they intend they provide the support needed for better and deeper measures,” stressed the legislator while underlining the influence of election on construction, development and well-being of the country.

He also referred to the regional and international repercussions of election and said that while the region has been experiencing a security chaos in the recent years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has enjoyed a good status of security with its good level of consciousness. He added that the security of Iran has been attested by all foreigner experts.
