US, S Arabia doomed to failure in Yemen: Velayati

TEHRAN, Apr. 21 (MNA) – Head of Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council Velayati discussed the regional developments during an address at the Islamic Azad University in Tehran.

“Today we are witnessing that the world is heeding this axis,” referred Ali Akbar Velayati to the alliance formed between Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine. “These countries won over the 70 countries allied to topple Syrian government.”

The top aid of Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks on Thursday at the headquarters of the Islamic Azad University in Tehran.

Velayati highlighted that during the years of Saddam’s war against Iran, Syria and Yemen provided helps which foiled the plots to label the war between the Arabs and the Persians.

The veteran diplomat and senior official recounted that Netanyahu had asked the Europe to strike Iran’s nuclear centers with the logic that if Israel attacked Iran, Hezbollah would ‘flat the land of Israel’.

“One day John Kerry told Mr. Zarif that Iran had been arming Iraq and Mr. Zarif replied that if we had not helped the Iraqi government, you would be having phone conversation with ISIL in Baghdad instead of what you are doing now in Mosul,” quoted Mr. Velayati after saying that Iraq is a loyal ally of Iran while the US has paid $4 trillion and 4000 American lives in Iraq.

He also articulated that the Europe is after establishing the United States of Europe in the face of the United States of America and then quoted Trump saying that the Europeans should forget about it and the same as UK is leaving the EU the other countries should exit the union.

“The US will certainly be defeated in Yemen especially because it is siding with Saudi Arabia,” affirmed the Iranian official. “The future of the region is bright and certainly the people of Yemen will be victorious and in medium and long run the victory is for the friends of Iran.”
