Similar to the previous year, the final showdown of the sportive event was competed between Iranian basketball club Petrochimi Bandar Imam and Lebanon’s Al Riyadi.
Held in the Jordanian capital of Amman, the fixture saw the Persian side suffering a 69-83 defeat in the face of Al Riyadi of Lebanon. Accordingly, Petrochimi players, who had conceded another defeat against Lebanese rivals in the preliminary round, finished second overall.
In the 2016 edition, the Iranian club had thrashed Al Riyadi both in the first round and in the finals winning the title of WABA.
Meanwhile, Iranian professional basketball club Palayesh Naft Abadan overcame Iran’s Chimidor club to stand in the third place.
Iranian professional basketball club Palayesh Naft Abadan and Petrochimi Bandar Imam are drawn in Pool A along with Lebanese club al-Riyadi and Sareyyet Ramallah of Palestine.
Iran’s Chimidor club, Lebanese Sagesse basketball club and al-Mina'a basketball club of Iraq are pitted against each other in Pool B.
