Failure of JCPOA failure of diplomacy

TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (MNA) – President Rouhani underlined that lack of commitment to JCPOA and its violation would convey the message of diplomacy’s failure in settling complicated issues.

President Rouhani made the remarks during his meeting with French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault in Tehran on Monday.

Rouhani underlined the importance of the expansion of ties with France and deemed the regular visits between Iranian and French officials as an indication of determination to boost ties; “Tehran and Paris ties has experienced a growth during the last year, but regarding the capacities, further cooperation is needed.”

“JCPOA has been an important event in international arena and conveyed an important message for the world that complicated international issues could be solved via negotiations and within a win-win frame; that is why all involved parties in the deal should stay committed to it as its violation would indicate failure of diplomacy,” Rouhani underlined.

“As IAEA has confirmed Islamic Republic of Iran has been committed to the nuclear deal and expects the other parties to do so,” Iranian president asserted.

Rouhani also touched upon the issue of terrorism; “Iran, as a victim of terrorism, stands at the forefront of the fight against terrorism in the region; all have to cooperate to tackle the phenomenon and France could play a vital role in this regard.”

He further noted the crises in Syria and Iraq underlining the political process as the sole solution and nation’s will as the last determiner of their fate.

French Foreign Minister Ayrault, for his part, underlined Paris’ determination to reinforce its ties in all possible fields saying “no doubt I’m leaving Tehran while a new chapter is opened in Iran-France ties in all fields.”

“Tehran and Paris have boosted ties in economic, cultural and academic fields and this is obvious in talks of numerous French firms with their Iranian counterparts,” he said.

Ayrault also underlined that his country has spared no effort to remove banking obstacles and would continue to do so.

He also commended Iran’s constructive role in regional and international issues and hoped for its perpetuation.
