Winners of 4th Tehran Contemporary Sculpture Biennial announced

TEHRAN, Aug. 2 (MNA) -- The winners of the 4th Tehran Contemporary Sculpture Biennial were awarded during a ceremony held this week at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, the Art Academy Public Relations Office announced on Monday.

Alireza Sami-Azar, the director of the Visual Arts Center of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, was presented the Ostad Sanati Award, named after Ali Akbar Sanati, one of Iran’s first modern sculptors.

The Art Academy first, second, and third place awards were given to Setareh Barirani, Naghmeh Fakurzadeh, and Zeinolabedin Banaii.

In the Iranian Fantasy and World Horizon section, Behruz Daresh, Reza Lavasani, and Abdolnaser Givar won the Special Jury Prize and Aliasghar Golnari was also honored.

Bijan Nemati Sharif, Ali Mahbubi Sufiani, and Mohammad Hossein Emad were honored in the Free Form section and Elham Puriamehr and Mohammad Mardi were honored in the special section for participants under 35.

Sahand Hesamian, Daryush Saedi, and Hamidreza Hakimi were presented awards by the Urban Beautification Organization of the Tehran Municipality.

Az-Zahra University presented the Kamaleddin Behzad awards to Nastaran Shahbazi, Puya Khazaeli Parsa, and Reza Lavasani and also honored Abbas Akbari.

And finally, Tandis Publications presented awards to Mohammad Hossein Emad, Karim Nasr, and Abolfazl Shahi.
