Iran lauds Yemen’s Nat. Salvation Govt. confidence vote

TEHRAN, Dec. 11 (MNA) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman has praised the vote of confidence given to Yemen’s National Salvation Government by the country’s House of Representatives.

Bahram Ghasmei, while highlighting the legitimacy and legal standing of the House of Representatives of Yemen, welcomed the House’s recent move of giving a vote of confidence to the country’s National Salvation Government.

The new Yemeni government, led by the former governor of Aden Abdul Aziz Bin Habtoor, was sworn in on Nov. 29 and formed by Ansarullah movement. The government is to replace the Supreme Political Council, and is tasked with the country’s domestic affairs and dealing with Saudi Arabia’s continued aggression against the Yemeni nation.

“I hope that the representatives of Yemeni people and the cabinet of national salvation will take effective measures toward providing services for people and reducing the impacts of war,” Ghasemi said, adding “I also hope that the new government will be able to pave the way toward peace, stability and resolving of conflicts through peaceful means.”

The Iranian diplomat went on to express his regret over the recent obstructions and obstacles made in the path of political dialogues by certain sides connected to the outgoing government of Yemen, and once again stressed the need for the resumption of Yemeni-Yemeni talks, an end to military aggressions and facilitation of humanitarian aid delivery to that country.
