Iran’s Ambassador to The Hague, Alireza Jahangiri, made the remarks during his opening address of the Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC) that was held in the Dutch capital Amsterdam on 25-26 October. Over 650 supply chain companies active in the field of energy technology showcased their products and services at the exhibition, and key topics and solutions for the offshore community were covered at a conference that followed the exhibtion.
Major oil and gas companies from Iran for the first time in the past 20 years participated in the exhibition with their own exclusive stand covering a 260 square meter ground.
Jahangiri discussed the economic approaches of the Islamic Republic if Iran, adding “increasing the efficiency of the economy is one of the main objective of the Iranian government which is simultaneously followed up with increasing domestic production, attracting investment and foreign technical knowledge.”
Jahangiri highlighted the determination of Iranian and Dutch officials to expand relations, particularly in the economic field, and discussed in length for the European businessmen present at the conference the broad developments in economic relations between Iran and the Netherlands in the past year, as well as the increasing exchange of state and private delegations between the two countries and the growth of trade and tourism figures.
Over 70 representatives from 28 companies from the private sector of Iran held negotiations with European companies at the exhibition and conference in Amsterdam.
Iran also held a one-day conference on investment opportunities in the country’s offshore oil and gas, which was received enthusiastically by major European companies.
