Selected through 1000 films, Based on Photo managed to attend the Manhattan Independent Film Festival's semifinals, which is held in association with the New York Film Festival.
The Iranian animation will also go screen at Manchester Animation Festival in November.
The 7-minute 2D animation has so far won two awards for the Best Animated Film at Hollywood Sky Film Festival in the US and KINOLIT Film Festival in Russia.
The movie displays short parts of everyday life of several young people living in Tehran. It joins each character to the other by a photo captured in last sequence.
