'Kupal' to attend intl. film festivals early 2017

TEHRAN, Sep. 18 (MNA) – Kazem Mollaie’s debut feature 'Kupal' about a hunter and a taxidermist will be presented to international film festivals in early 2017.

The film has gone through the final stages of color correction and is being prepared for final sound mixing.

"It portrays the story of a hunter and taxidermist who goes through an unfortunate incident just moments before the turn of the year," Mollaie tells us about the storyline of Kapul and the tagline which is: "You can’t be alone in this world!"

He uses a poem by Rasul Yunan to describe the theme of the movie, "the world is a strange place. Here, whoever shoots is the one who gets killed."

The main cast in “Kupal” are Levon Haftvan, Nazanin Farahani, Pouria Rahimi Sam, Hossein Shamsabadi, Vahan Salimzadeh, Mojtaba Alizadeh, and Hossein Ghayebi Shabahang. A smart dog named Sharon, also plays a key role in the movie.  

Mollaie, who is both the director and the script writer of Kupal, has previously produced several successful short films and presented them to national and international film festivals. They include 'Please Stay Away from the Red Line'،'Minus' and 'Delete'.   

'Delete' was his last short film that won him the awards for the Best Experimental Film and the Audience Award in the 28th Tehran International Short Film Festival.
