Pakistan calls for boost in media coop. with Iran

TEHRAN, Jun. 29 (MNA) – Pakistan’s Minister of Information, Mass-media Broadcasting, and National Heritage Pervez Rashid in a meeting with Iranian ambassador, in Islamabad stressed the need to strengthen media cooperation between the two neighboring countries.

Pervez Rashid said the media can play an influential role in promoting people-to-people relations, eliminating misunderstanding and creating better understanding between the two countries.

During Tuesday evening meeting with Mehdi Honardoost, Rashid stressed that media cooperation between Iran and Pakistan would strengthen bilateral relations in all fields.

Pakistan attaches great importance to friendly relations with Iran, Rashid said adding the historical, religious, linguistic and cultural commonalities between the two nations and the two countries, creates the basis for their friendship.

Honardoost, for his part, noting the need to further strengthening of Iran and Pakistan ties in all fields, stressed the strategic importance of friendly relations with Pakistan to the Islamic Republic.

Iranian ambassador also submitted the invitation of Vice President of Iran and Head of Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization Masoud Soltanifar to Pervez Rashid to take part in a cultural conference in Tehran in summer 2016.
