Iran to raise export of technical, engineering services to Belarus

TEHRAN, Nov. 06 (MNA) – Commercial attaché of the Iranian embassy in Belarus has said Iran will soon increase export of technical and engineering service to Belarus by the removal of sanctions.

Addressing a gathering of Iranian businessmen at the export and business development meeting in the city of Ardebil, Alireza Seyhoun said, “in addition to engineering services, goods exports as well as development of industrial cooperation will also get facilitated by the lifting of financial, banking and customs sanctions.”

He deemed banking and customs issues as main causes of the slow pace of trade between the two countries in recent years stressing that the problems have largely been alleviated.

Comparing the status of trade between Iran and Belarus in recent years and the present time, Seyhoun added, “the two sides have mainly focused on exporting technical and engineering services as well as industrial cooperation over the recent years.”

The official further enumerated potential areas for expansion of relations including heavy machinery, vehicles, transportation as well as mining machinery. “There also exists proper grounds for increasing export of several other products like agricultural products, dried fruit, petrochemical products, plastic industry and machinery parts,” he emphasized.

The commercial attaché called on Iranian businessmen to exploit experiences of Belarus in the fields of industrial agriculture as well as livestock industries by conducting joint ventures.

Pointing to Belarus’s interest in agricultural processing industries, Seyhoun stated, “the country’s annual export of dairy is worth 2.5 billion dollars while the figure for meat is one billion dollars.”

“Belarus as an industrial country being a business and export magnet for the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries,” maintained the official.
