In a message to his South African counterpart Jacob Zuma on Saturday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the South African nation and government on the occasion of the country's Freedom Day.
President Rouhani also hoped that cooperation between Iran and South Africa would further expand in both bilateral and international levels.
He further prayed for the health and prosperity of South African nation and government.
April 27 marks the first post-apartheid non-racial elections held in 1994 in which everyone over 18 from any race group was allowed to vote. Previously, under the apartheid regime, non-whites had only limited rights to vote.
